COUNCIL OF ADMINISTRATION MEETING
NOVEMBER 17, 2007
State Commander Edward Pritchard called the Council of Administration to order in due form on November 17, 2007 at 1100 hours. Opening prayer led by State Chaplain Val Obregon, Pledge to Flag led by Commander Pritchard. Commander Pritchard opened the meeting about membership. He told the Council where the Department membership was standing at the present time and the direction we need to start moving toward. Commander Pritchard then turned the meeting over to Quartermaster Travis Whaley. Travis stated that we were short 822 members continuous and reinstate. Travis said that at this time last year we had fifteen Posts 100% or better. Travis stated that we needed to make some incentives for Post membership. Adjutant Hancock held Roll Call of Officers. All present except for Council Members Jimmy Whigham and James Wheeler. Council Member Rhodes arrived after meeting was in session. Motion made by Jim Giles that any member recruiting ten members sent in to Department be reimbursed $50.00. Seconded by Tom Baltzell, motion passed. Motion made by Tom Baltzell that any Post hosting family day for National Guard Units be reimbursed, if not paid for through MAPS. Seconded by James Farley, motion passed. Motion by Jim Giles that cut-off date for paying new members be December 15, 2007. Seconded by James Farley, motion passed. Motion by Roland Day that any Post Commander that reaches 100% by December 31st gets one night free hotel at Mid-Winter Conference and any District Commander that gets 100% by December 31st gets two free registrations at Mid-Winter and June Convention. Seconded by Jim Giles, motion passed. Motion by Ray Holland that Council Members get paid two nights hotel at Mid-Winter Conference, seconded by George Fulkerson, motion passed. Motion by Roland Day that all program winners, Firefighter, EMT, Police Officer and Teachers receive $1000.00, seconded by Jim Walden, motion passed. E-Mail received at Headquarters to send a person for Certified National Recruiter Training, Commander will send Larry Dean. Motion made by Roland Day that Council go into Executive Session, seconded by Wayne Dial and so moved. Reconvene to regular Council meeting for comments from all members. Closing prayer by Chaplain Val Obregon. Salute to Flag. Meeting adjourned at 1220 hours.
